About
With 30 years of experience in the education and social sector focusing on the programme cycle management and with deep understanding of the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Systems in Kenya and several African Countries including Mali, Malawi, Zambia, Senegal, Niger, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania. Over 16 years of experience in design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Systems in Kenya and several African Countries including Mali, Malawi, Zambia, Senegal, Niger, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania. My areas of expertise are: research, monitoring and evaluation including needs assessment surveys, training needs assessments, baseline, midline and endline and end of project of project evaluations; statistical data analysis; mobile data collection; outcome mapping; theory of change; results based management; project and programme design; project and programme budgeting; writing of funding proposals; program quality assurance; organizational capacity assessments; stakeholder analysis; report writing and dissemination at national and international conferences; facilitation of stakeholder workshops; and training. I worked with project with international development partners including Government of Kenya, JICA, UNESCO, Aga Khan Foundation (AKF); USAID; DFID; UNICEF; Porticus Africa; GAC; Dubai Cares among others. I have mastered and applied a range of analytical techniques and statistical tools including: SPSS, Instats, STATA, CSPro, Listrel, Winsteps, Eviews, MAXQDA, MS Excel and MS Access which I have applied for analyses in research, monitoring and evaluation work in education and social intervention programs. In collaboration with co-authors, I have written several research & evaluation reports and conference papers in education and the social development sector. I have sufficient knowledge of the administrative procedures of international donor organizations, The African Union, Governments of Kenya and other African Countries, and Government Institutions and Agencies. I have wide experience working with Government Agencies in Kenya including; i) Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA); ii) Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD); iii) Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC); iv) Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI); v) Teachers Service Commission (TSC); vi) Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM), and; vii) Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) among others.
