About

  Dr. Lahcen Haddad is World Bank Social Development International Consultant. He is Vice President of Society for International Development, and Toulouse Business School International Negotiation, Strategic Management and Business Environment Professor. Most recently, he became member of the Board of Trustees for World Learning. He is also opinion writer for Entrepreneur and Harvard Business Review. Dr. Lahcen Haddad has been Minister of Tourism with the Government of Morocco between 2012 and 2016. As Minister, he has overseen the shift of Morocco towards becoming a leading destination in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East and a reference country with regards to sustainable tourism. Prior to that and for over twenty years, Dr. Lahcen Haddad worked as international expert in strategic management, democracy and governance, parliamentary work, migration, economic as well as human development, and as a certified expert in strategic planning, citizen engagement, monitoring and evaluation, diversity and entrepreneurship. His involvement in programs and studies of national and international importance endowed him with a mastery of a diverse array of areas of interest, including geostrategic issues, economic development, public policy, international relations, migration, and issues of governance at local and international levels. Dr. Lahcen Haddad taught as a university professor for over thirty years with institutions such as Indiana University, Saint Thomas Aquinas College in New York, the School of International Training in Vermont, Mohamed V University in Rabat and Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, the Toulouse Business School in Casablanca and others. At the World Learning School of International Training, Dr. Haddad was for over ten years Academic Director for the SIT Morocco Program and area thought leader for the Academic Directors community. The publications of Dr. Haddad, in English, Arabic, French and Spanish, both academic and journalese, span the topic areas of economics development, diaspora studies, geostrategy, social sciences, development, education, communication and management as well as topics of general interest.
