Tropical Agriculturist / Manager in International Development

• More than 26 years experience in sustainable tropical agriculture (notably cocoa, also oil palm, coffee, vegetables, tropical fruit trees, coconuts, rice, cashew and peanuts) with smallholder farmers as well as industrial plantations.
• Over 19 years of experience with management of agricultural programs (including proposal development, project design, feasibility studies, project implementation, financial management, M&E, supervision and capacity building of local and international program staff). Excellent budget management skills for large, complex projects.
• Over 18 years of experience in sustainable agricultural value chains development, especially in coordination with the private sector and public-private partnerships.
• Strengthening farmer organizations and training of smallholder farmers through Farmer Field Schools (FFS) using IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and GAP (Good Agricultural Practices).
• Team Leader and program manager experience on large scale agricultural extension programs, training smallholder farmers as well as government employees during Training of Trainers (ToT).
• Over 12 years of experience with grant management and (sub-) contract management to NGO’s, government agencies and research institutions (universities).
• Livestock production (goats, cattle, poultry, pigs, rabbits), Agroforestry and Silvopasture management.
• Extensive experience with project cycle management using the Logical Framework Approach.
• Working experience with EDF procedures on EU funded projects.
