About
I conduct applied and basic research at the intersection of social psychology and political science. My primary research interests centre on immigrant integration and retention, where I am motivated to understand attitude formation and change; newcomers' sense of attachment and belonging to their place of settlement; and, the implications of these dynamics for the participation, integration, and overall well-being of minority communities. In addition to my work on immigration and diversity, I maintain a strong academic interest in psychometrics, political behaviour and public opinion, as well as program evaluation and monitoring for non-profit and community-based organizations.
Using observational, survey, and experimental methods, I develop and analyze rigorous quantitative and qualitative data collection strategies in cross-cultural settings. Before beginning my PhD, I worked as a community-based researcher, partnering with several non-profits in Guatemala and Canada to monitor and evaluate the impacts of their interventions and inform program development.
