IT Assistant:

Perform second level troubleshooting in conjunction with the Mission Wide Service Desk.
Perform the installation, configuration, routine testing and deployment of hardware and software servers, including Local Area Network (LAN), Operating Systems, Email, Linux, Lotus Notes, Outlook, Database systems, Internet services software, firewalls, DNS servers, DHCP, messaging relays and various security software.
Assist in the control of computers using the United Nations software delivery system to ensure that software distributions are delivered properly.
Set up services (Installation) and support, receive and record phone calls reporting problems or requests for assistance in the automated tracking system as soon as possible.
Perform tasks related to scheduled service requests, including equipment replacement, equipment installation / uninstallation, software installation, LAN connection, inventory returns, and so on.
Provide basic training for end-users on the use of standard systems; Record all calls made on the automated tracking system, including site survey information, steps taken to resolve problems or complete the task, problems encountered, current situation, etc.
