Dr. Stefan Staiger Schneider holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences (i.e., Bacharel em Ciências Jurídicas e Sociais), which is the equivalent to a law degree, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (i.e., Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul – PUCRS), Brazil, a Master’s degree in European Union law, economics and political science (i.e., Master of Arts in European Studies) from the Universität Hamburg, Germany, and both a Master’s degree in comparative law, European law and international law (i.e., LLM in Comparative, European and International Laws) and a PhD in law from the European University Institute, Italy.

In his home country, he is an attorney admited to the Brazilian Bar Association (i.e., Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – OAB) and a member of the Commission on International Relations and MERCOSUR Integration of the Rio Grande do Sul State Section of the Brazilian Bar Association (i.e., Comissão de Relações Internacionais e Integração do MERCOSUL – CRIIM da Seccional do Rio Grande do Sul da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil).
