Since the beginning of my career 10 years ago, I have worked exclusively in the seed sector for entities dealing in seed business and/or supporting seed sector or seed systems development. I am currently managing the seed subsidiary company of NARO Holdings Ltd – the commercial wing of the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO).

Throughout my career, working with multiple stakeholders has been a default role given the nature of my assignments. In my previous position as Early Generation Seed and Policy Cordinator, I was at the forefront of seed sector and policy coordination, responsible for organising and facilitating national seed stakeholders’ dialogues/events, and fostering public-private partnerships in seed sector development. These processes led to the approval of the National Seed Policy and Strategy (2018), alignment of the Uganda Seeds and Plant Regulations (2016) to the Seed Trade Harmonization Regulations of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and recognition of the Quality Declared Seed (QDS) system in Uganda.

Several times, I have had work-related exposure within Eastern and Southern Africa. I have also participated in a number of international conferences, meetings and tailor-made trainings on seed-related topics. Through these opportunities, I have been able to learn about the agricultural research, seed trade and seed systems of the different East African countries and many others around the World, including advanced ones in Europe, Asia and the United States of America. These engagements have helped me to build a professional network with key national, regional and international seed sector stakeholders (both public & private).

My well-grounded expertise in multi-stakeholder engagements; seed trade and delivery systems; seed systems and policies; seed business and quality management systems; farmer training and extension systems; project planning, coordination and management gives me the confidence to effectively handle seed sector- and/or agricultural- related assignments.
