About
Maggie Munthali has PhD in Geography, University Pretoria, South Africa, specializing in the use of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for forest and natural resource management. She also has MSc. in Sustainable Soil Resource Management, University of Nairobi, Kenya and BSc Forestry (Mzuzu University, 2008) . Additionally, she has over 10 years’ work experience in forestry research and development in the Department of Forestry (Government of Malawi). She has extensive experience in the integration of social elements including gender, disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in forestry interventions. As a Research fellow, Maggie is responsible for conducting research and policy analysis on fisheries and aquaculture policy issues.
