About

Daniel is an ambitious Kenyan with exceptional skills and extensive experience in international development, especially developing and implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) systems for programs. His experience stretches from health to humanitarian assistance and education or capacity building having worked with over 50 donors. For the last over 17 years, he has worked with various international NGOs in Kenya, the East Africa region and also across Africa to improve and transform the lives.

He successfully developed and implemented a rigorous monitoring and evaluation system for a youth focused health program by The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), The Belgian Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He also designed and implemented an integrated planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting for the Kenya Red Cross Society while working as the National Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) Officer.

Daniel currently works with the Global Secretariat of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS)-the Next Einstein Initiative as the Associate Director for Evaluation and Program Performance. He is in charge of developing and implementing a MERL system to gather and present strong evidence of impact of AIMS programs while ensuring continuous learning and improvement.

He graduated with a first class honors in Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) and Master's in the same field from Moi University in Kenya. He is pursuing a PhD in Development Studies at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology. Daniel also has two diplomas in Humana Resources Management and Communty Health and Development.
