My primary interest is in managing water resources to ensure sustainable water availability for ALL life - humans and ecosystems. Services provided by natural vegetation and wetlands maintains water availability for rural communities, fisheries and lowers costs for urban water supply. I have assisted agencies in studies and designing programs to include ecosystem management/restoration in regional water management planning.

I have a background in environmental engineering, wetland/aquatic/estuarine ecology, soil science, agriculture, water resources management. Have been working with ecohydrological projects since 1993 across South Asia, Africa, North and South America with a variety of stakeholders - government agencies, academia/research, corporate companies, public schools, NGOs and rural communities. Have led ecohydrological/climate change/land use change vulnerability studies, trained government and institutional personnel in ecohydrology, GIS, data management and instrumentation. Developed and implemented low-cost drinking water quality field tests (Hydrogen sulfide) in Tanzania, just to name a few examples.
