Advisor – Sustainable Forest Management in Himachal Pradesh Forest Ecosystem Services Project (June 2016 till date), GIZ Project

The project objective is to introduce ecosystem approach into the development planning of Himachal Pradesh Forest Department. In addition to this, the project aims to build the capacity of the HPFD officials to plan and implement activities based on ecosystem approach. Long Term Ecological Monitoring (LTEM) is yet another tool that will be used to generate data to be used in the Working Plans of the forest department. The project strives to introduce cross-sectoral linkages and incentive-based mechanisms as two important constituents of ecosystem approach by piloting models in the field.
