About

+20 years of professional experience in Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action.

My professional interests focus on the role of public policies to address inequality, social exclusion and vulnerability, and in contributing to social justice and social transformation (in both developing and European countries). Social protection and related schemes, in their preventive, protective, promotive and transformative functions, can make an important contribution.

My experience (see below) also includes fragile and conflict / post-conflict contexts, where I am particularly interested in the interface between development, humanitarian assistance and the social dimension of peacebuilding efforts (nexus approaches, social cohesion, social protection, local responses to forced displacement).

Gender Equality, Women's Rights, Citizen Action and Rights Based Approaches are essential in my work. State-society local dynamics are at centre stage. The SDGs set the way.
