Mission to prepare options for a national Climate Fund for Tanzania. The work included consultations with Government officials, development partners and other stakeholders in Zanzibar and in Tanzania.

IN Zanzibar this also includes screening of the Government’s 5 year Implementation Plan to asses to what extent climate change has already been included. Support to the biomass sector of the WB funded Sustainable Energy Development Program. Focussing in issues such as biomass statistics, efficient cookstoves and charcoal production. Facilitation of green charcoal workshop. 3^nd visit for same program.Support to IFDC to prepare proposal for a two year extension of the Sustainable Energy through Woodlot program operating in 3 countries, Burundi, Rwanda and Eastern DRC. Program planted about 20,000 ha of trees in small woodlots for energy production and supported value chain development (nurseries, charcoaling, cookstoves, brick works, and tree grower associations. Facilitation of World Bank supported workshop on Green Charcoal which is expected to result in a publication. 2^nd visit for same program.
