I am a graduate of Plant Sciences (BSc) from Haramaya University in 2004 GC and recently successfully completed Agricultural Economics (MSc) from St. Mary’s University.

 I have been working for the last 12 years in different organizations ranging from public institutions like agricultural colleges and research centers, commercial farm (Sugar Factory), international non-government organizations and private consulting firms. In these years, I have gained ample experience working across different parts of agricultural development which helped success in my carriers.

 While working in public institutions like research center I have gained better understanding regarding the opportunities and challenges in the agricultural development in Ethiopia with emphasis on finding solutions for the challenges and building on the opportunities for the effectiveness of the agricultural development which can be explained by positive economic return.

 I had an opportunity to work for USAID Ethiopia under the project Agribusiness and Market Development which was the component of Growth and Transformation Plan of Ethiopian Government under Agricultural Growth Plan (AGP) aimed at increasing the agricultural productivity and improving the market system for strategic commodities prioritized during the five years GTP plan.

 Working in Consulting firms which were dealing with market oriented agriculture in Value chain programme with Cooperatives, farmers organizations, private sectors and NGOs working in different sectors like food security, agri business etc. Also involved in feasibility studies, Value chain training and facilitation, business coaching, agronomic advice and technical backstopping, advise on value addition for oil crops, Pulses, feeds for livestock, horticultural crops, facilitating farmer’s access to finance , facilitating farmer’s access to better market and Market facilitation, Facilitating farmer’s access to improved seed etc.

 I have experience working across large number of stakeholders and have good record in dealing with these partners while working with private sectors(Seed producers, wholesalers, processors, commercial farms, etc),  public institutions(Research centers, Ministries, Bureaus, Universities, etc) and farmers organizations(Cooperatives and farmers unions).

 Moreover, I was involved in developing different agricultural development strategies in Ethiopia like Wheat and Malt Barley Value Chain, Horticulture Development, Maize Value Chain, Agricultural Commercialization Cluster Development, etc while I was at Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) for two consecutive years.

 In addition to the experiences I have gained across these years, I have also attended a number of trainings related to agribusiness management, value Chain Development and stakeholders engagement, etc which can add value to your organization for the success the project.
