Celeste Banze is Economist graduated from Eduardo Mondlane University – Mozambique in 2010. Since 2019 she is attending Master degree ( dissertation submited with topic: Taxation success or failure: the case of simplified tax for small taxpayers ) in Public Administration with specialization in International Development at University of York United Kingdom.
She is working as consultant on tax policy issues at the Ministry of Finance since March 2021, previously worked as researcher and public finance pillar coordinator at Center for Public Integrity, a Civil Society Organization, for five years and during this period she also worked as the Open Budget Survey (OBS) 2019 Researcher from International Budget Partnership for Mozambique. Her work experience includes four years at National Institute of Statistics at Consumer Price Index and Economic Conjuncture department.
Her research agenda covers tax policy analysis, budget transparency and accountability, budget analysis and policy priorities regarding equity and justice in budgeting for social sectors. She has interest on Development Policies, Fiscal decentralization and Public Debt and Taxation. She collaborates with the Mozambican Economists association (AMECON).
