Dr Noor Ahmad Baloch is a medical graduate with a Masters in Public Health and Doctorate in Environmental Health. He has several years of public health work experience within large public and private sector organisation in both developing and industrialised countries (i.e. Pakistan, United Kingdom and short term consultancies in Afghanistan).
He has been successfully managing various programmes/projects funded through public sector and donors such as Government, Global Fund to Fight Aids, TB and Malaria (GFATM), USAID and DFID.
Noor has full understanding of technical aspects of disease with proven and consistent track record of strategic, programme planning, research and development in disease control and care such as leading the development of TB DOTS Public-private Models, Operational Guidelines and Monitoring & Evaluation Mechanism, National Strategic Plan TB Control Pakistan, multiple proposals (PC-1s) for public sector funding of programme activities, successful proposals for Global Fund Grants (Round 8 and 9), periodic action planning of interventions, contributing in the development of National Drug Resistant TB guideline, operational guidelines and training materials for MDR-TB care.
In addition, he has been an active contributor in the strategic policy planning at various international technical groups like DOTS Expansion Working Group (DEWG), Subgroup on Public-Private Mix for TB Care and Control, Introducing New Approaches & Tools (INAT) Core Group, Eastern Mediterranean Region Stop TB Partnership.
Noor Baloch has excellent communication skills and has presented at various national and international forums and written programme reports, as well as research articles and comments for the leading journals; such as the Lancet Infectious Disease.
