Bio:

Thon Huijser, after more than 10 years of working in the Dutch banking sector with a focus on agribusiness financing, is active as an international advisor to financial institutions, farmers, and agribusinesses for over 30 years. In this capacity, he has managed teams to develop agri-leasing and to develop Agri investment funds for DFIs and the private sector. He has also worked with micro-finance programs, banks, leasing companies, ministries, investors, and agribusinesses in 46 countries, of which eight are Asian and eleven are African, assessing value chains across 25 agri-sub-sectors, and developing agribusiness investment and financing strategies. His experience also includes proposing adapted structures to finance agricultural production conducting financial modeling and product development. He has also been responsible for raising debt and equity for agribusinesses. His knowledge and experience resulted in a unique capability to support the development and implementation of effective solutions in complex situations.
