Senior development specialist assisting/managing development projects in underdeveloped countries. Bringing an interdisciplinary approach, my work  focuses on health services expansion/organization for the most disenfranchised populations, particularly women, children and the poor. Since mid 1980s, I have worked, on long and short term bases in Africa, Latin America, and Asia/Nera East, gaining extensive experience in the areas of Public Health and Nutrition, Urban and Rural development, Decentralization of health services.

In addition to have experience managing Primary Health Programs such as MCH, HIV/AIDS, RH, Malaria and Adolescent and YOuth Health I have sound history in other supportive areas for health and development: (a) Health programs evaluation and activity monitoring design using appropriate social and medical quantitative research methodologies, with particular emphasis in impact assessment. (b) Organizational development, sustainability/capacity building, and complex organizations analysis, including expertise in MIS design and reporting and use of information for decision-making. (c) Program/project management and operations, particularly quality services improvements and strategies for expanding services to underserved populations. And (e) Community development: participation of community organizations  in development initiatives in health, rural development and education. Also experience in evaluation rural development programs and educational/health related initiatives.

I have served in leading technical/managerial positions both at HQ level and at field projects. I held a PhD, a MS and a Sociologist License. Since 1986 I have led several MCH, HIV/AIDS and RH/FP projects in Africa (for example Angola, Uganda, Mozambique, DRC), Latin America (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Haiti  and Cetral America)  and Asia (Jordan, Bangladesh, India). I have also been working as an independent consultant mostly in the design and evaluation of Health Development programs/projects for different agencies in more than 22 countries.
