Statistical consultations in a wide range of subject areas: epidemiologic and biological investigations of the periodontal status, analysis of the ”efficiency” of public and private authorities, assessment of planning and control activities in the personnel department of large private enterprises, analysis of price elasticity of international telecommunication demand, for forecasting telecommunication demand; theoretical and practical aspects of quality management; implementation of a register-based census methodology

Statistical research: research and methodological development (more than 120 publications) including research management (head of an academic unit, coordination of research projects, supervision; see publications, i.e., books, special issues, special sections, articles in scientific journals, and editorial work and refereeing, in 15.

Statistical training: university teaching since 1970 until today, courses in vocational training, courses in topics of official statistics; expertise in curriculum development and evaluation; for 5 years Vice-Dean of Studies, responsible for the establishment and strategic use of evaluation tools for study programs and teaching individuals

Expertise in various domains of Official Statistics, such as business statistics, labour market statistics, tourism statistics including tourism satellite accounts (TSA), and others

Extensive participation in assessments of national statistical institutes, e.g. in 12 Global Assessments and Peer Reviews in EU member states and in ENP countries; design of strategy and roadmap for the development of the national statistical institute in countries of the Middle East; analyses of the implementation of the recommendations from Peer Reviews and Global Assessments

Extensive expertise in Official Statistics and the organization and strategies of National Statistical Systems, assessment of NSOs and of selected statistical areas (business statistics, labour market statistics, social statistics, tourism statistics, GDP)

Management of a major statistical organization including communication with public administration and politics (Director General of Statistics Austria)

Project management in the public sector (Vice-Dean of Studies at the University of Economics and Business, Vienna)
