Over twenty years of telecommunications management and technical experience, including blue chip background at global telecom industry players (Huawei, Siemens AG) and large European telecom operator (Portugal Telecom). Educated to Ph.D. level (UK). Proven track record in delivering results and managing teams and projects in both mature and emerging markets, as CTO (2 years), Programme + + Manager/Director (7 years), Operations Director (6 years), International Telecom Consultant (5 years) and Project Manager (9 years).
Successfully managed business change and day-to-day operations with a track record of involvement in: telecom network evolution strategy and its integration into operator’s business strategy; wireless broadband start-up founding; business planning and market entry assessment, business development; telecom strategy consulting. Spanning from start-ups to mature organisations, with annual revenues from a few USD million up to over USD 1 billion. Project management with total cost of ownership (TCO) up to $300M and negotiation of long-term supplier contracts over $200M.
Extensive technical and business experience in telecommunications and in particular mobile broadband (MBB) networks that includes CTO level management skills. Responsibilities covered network evolution strategy and its impact in business strategies, large involvement in programme management particularly relevant for MBB/4G projects, fixed and mobile networks planning and design, regulatory and spectrum matters, network rollout, systems integration, service provisioning, operations management and SLA / KPI management.
