About

As a veteran humanitarian and development professional, I spent more than thirteen years in supporting the implementation of various humanitarian and development programs (Non-formal Education, Nutrition, WASH, Livelihood, Resilience, DRM etc) that were executed in Amhara, Oromia, Somali, Afar and SNNP regional states. During the implementation of the projects, I worked within five employers (Concern World Wide, Pact World Wide. Tetra Tech Inc., Islamic Relief, Norwegian Refugee Council and Pastoralist Welfare Organization). I worked on various position and worked on different capacities, ranging from Education/Protection Technical Officer, MEAL and KM Coordinator, Project Planner, program development and quality assurance Manager, etc. Owing to extensive engagement on different capacities, I developed the specific competencies and technical skills required to promoting the welfare of children, young people, adults and beneficiaries with whom I closely worked for.13+ years

Regarding the specific responsibilities and accountabilities fought for MEAL and Program Development and QA departments, I can confidently speak that there is no single activity/tasks where I lack the needed knowledge, technical skills and leadership capacity. Thus, I consider myself as a person endowed with the passion and capacity extended towards demonstrating remarkable project performance. Moreover, by making use of the wealth of experiences and project management skills I acquired over my career history, I can design and conduct capacity building trainings, advocacy and campaign; humanitarian need assessments, prepare competitive proposals and concept notes, develop detailed implementation plans, customize/setup MEAL system, establish/strengthen consortium and partnership, develop data capturing tools and conduct baseline survey. As an added value, I possessed excellent interpersonal and institutional communication skills as I can fluently converse in three languages (English, Amharic, Oromo). Furthermore, I have got strong collaborations and working relationships with the relevant regional government actors, donors (USAID, DFID, ECHO, OFDA, UN, GAC, etc,), local authorities and target communities where I coordinated, managed and sustained the implementation of Nutrition, Protections/GBV, EFSVL,, Gender and Resilience

During the time I served as a MEAL and KM Coordinator at Pact/USAID, I led and coached MEAL team to improve quality of the program and to meet the target set for interventions dealing with saving lives, strengthening resilience and improving livelihoods. Equally important, I played pivotal roles in empowering communities, ensuring accountability and good governance to effectively implement projects in a result based and child-youth focused by adhering with approaches of women rights activism and with the policies of safeguarding
