Research and Policy Associate at African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP)

I am working as a Research and Policy associate at AFIDEP under the Global Health Corps Fellowship. My responsibilities are as follows:-

Responsible for conducting statistical analysis and trend analysis using R and STATA using secondary data for HMIS data for Kenya, Ethiopia and Nigeria

Responsible for time series data analysis and trend analysis of the impacts of COVID-19 on health service utilization in Kenya, Nigeria and Ethiopia (crisis context)

Writing systematic reviews on Nutrition interventions for under-five children following infectious disease incidences in Sub-Saharan Africa

Working with Consortium partners in Malawi, Kenya, Philippines, cote d’lvoire and USA on the project Building capacity for integrated family planning in population, environment and development (USAID Funded Project)

Providing support in Delivery of curriculums on Technical PED and Evidence informed decision making to women and youth groups in various districts in Malawi and Capacity Building.

Data collection through key informant interviews and qualitative data analysis

Mainstreaming of Youth and Gender Issues in Population, Environment and Development and how climate change affects Gender and the youth.

Stakeholder engagements with Government ministries (Mostly the National

Planning commission, Ministry of Natural resources, Energy and Mining and Ministry of Agriculture), women and youth groups, CSOs and private stakeholders
Conducting stakeholder analysis and Mapping as well as stakeholder engagements
