COPERNICUS DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM ENGINEERING – EUMETSAT (VIA CS GMBH)

On-site consultant full-time in EUMETSAT's team of Technical & Scientific Support, System Engineering and Projects on Copernicus Data Processing Systems.

Participate in the team's activities for design and development of the Sentinel 3 payload data processing re- engineering of the marine centre (S3GSRE-PDP). Focus on coordination activities of contractors for site- acceptance testing campaigns and OPE deployment. Additionally, supporting the integration activities of the I&V contractor as well as design and requirements engineering activities.

Common tasks:

◦ Participate and contribute to relevant facility, sub-system and system level reviews and milestones. ◦ Participate to the activities in the area of data processing as required by the programme/mission needs. ◦ Contribute to Anomaly processing activities (where possible). ◦ Contribute to SWETs/ECPs/Technical Notes. ◦ Contribute to investigation and improvements of the relevant sub-system and facility components. ◦ Contribute to the setup of a Test Suite within the Automated Test Environment (ATE) for individual processors and for the end-2-end data processing system (as a whole). ◦ Contribute to documentation activities (PDP wide and EUMETSAT specific).

◦ Contribute to the technical baseline documentation (ADD, ICD, STB, etc.). ◦ Contribute to the working practices and procedures in Confluence.

◦ Provide additional engineering contribution to the other EUM teams as required.

◦ Participate and contribute to relevant technical and progress meetings.

◦ Participate to the interaction with relevant partner organisations as necessary.

◦ Contribute to the training to the members of the SEP Data Processing Competence Area on the PDP.

The marine centre of Sentinel 3 ground segment is being re-engineered by EUMETSAT in order to integrate it with EUMETSAT standards after hand-over from ESA. Additionally, evolutions in hardware and software requirements are being implemented by EUMETSAT teams. Sentinel 3 is an European satellite within the Copernicus programme from the European Commission jointly operated by ESA and EUMETSAT.
