I am a Gender and Protection expert with over 18 years of experience advancing the rights and empowerment of women and adolescent girls across Africa. My work focuses on strengthening systems and partnerships that prevent and respond to gender-based violence, promote accountability, and drive sustainable gender equality—particularly in fragile and crisis-affected settings.

Throughout my career with UN agencies and international civil society organizations, I have provided technical guidance and strategic direction on Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Child Protection, and Adolescent Empowerment. I have worked extensively across Ethiopia, Mozambique, Somalia, and Kenya, applying a deep understanding of local contexts to ensure that global gender and protection frameworks translate into meaningful, measurable results.

My expertise spans gender-transformative programme design, policy influence, inter-agency coordination, and systems strengthening. I have led initiatives that expanded confidential reporting channels for survivors, mobilized multi-million-dollar resources for GBV prevention, and integrated gender equality into social protection and humanitarian response systems.
