About
I am an international financial management, operations, and administration expert with substantial experience spanning 15 years. My last role was Senior Finance and Administration Manager for Maryland Global Health Initiative Corporation (MGIC) based in Gaborone, Botswana. My roles and responsibilities included financial management, procurement, office administration, human resources, and fleet management. I was also responsible for the management of IT support and internet service providers. I have worked in Finance management, budget control, revision monitoring and reporting. I have worked with a number of funding including USAID, OFDA, Multi-Lateral grants from United Nations and the World Bank as well as private foundations. My extensive experience has been with USAID grants with a budget of 36 million on average.
I have worked in several countries including Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Rwanda, Liberia and Botswana serving in international development programmes/projects-humanitarian emergency response, education, global health, HIV, Youth and entrepreneurship, agriculture and WASH projects.
I am a self-starter who thrives in adherence and compliance of donor resources, prudent financial management and internal controls, high quality programming and meeting deadlines. With the number of pieces that fall in any finance role, I find myself with strong leadership skills of delegation, coordination and organizing. These skills have been strengthened more with experience through the years I have been working in these roles. This also makes me a team player and I can train and build capacities in team members that I identify as weak in specific areas.
I have a solid analytical skill and understand donor requirements in terms of compliance. I am well vest with accounting packages including ERP, Sun Systems and QuickBooks. For the past year I have been a part of the implementation of the new ERP system in MGIC and have been going through a series of trainings for Finance, Procurement and Human Resources. I am well conversant in English and understand basic French.
