Nailah is a multicultural, multilingual Caribbean-born and raised Dutch national currently residing in Brussels, Belgium. She has a diverse range of expertise in law, management consulting, government and public sector strategy and policy development, organizational development & transformation processes, and social entrepreneurship. She’s also held roles in research, training and capacity building, project and program management. Nailah’s had the privilege of working with a broad variety of international, national, regional, and local actors and stakeholders, including international organizations, governmental agencies, public and social sector actors, nonprofit and non-governmental organizations, businesses, and academia. Her passion lies in effectuating positive societal and social impact, in particular social change in the realm of equity and inclusion. To that end, she employs 13+ years of professional and entrepreneurial experience, multidisciplinary expertise, strong communication and multilingual skills in English, French, Dutch, and Spanish, along with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, stakeholder management and engagement, a personal drive for continuous learning and development, and well-rounded interpersonal skills. Nailah thrives in multicultural and multidisciplinary contexts that welcome utilization of cross-cutting approaches to the work at hand. Next to past full-time roles, Nailah has been involved in employee well-being and mental health initiatives since 2017. She’s also contributed to the advancement of equity and inclusion by facilitating cross-cultural communication and equitable access to public and social sector services for migrants and asylum-seekers as a social entrepreneur (2012-2020). In her free time she enjoys coming alongside persons in vulnerable situations and marginalized demographies through volunteering work. Nailah holds a Master of Laws degree and a Postgraduate Certificate in Conference Interpreting. She is a Certified Public Service Interpreter, a Certified Company Trusted Advisor ('Vertrouwenspersoon'; 'Personne de Confiance'), and holder of a PM2 Alliance Essentials Certification, a project management methodology developed by the European Commission.
