SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate staff and align them behind shared objectives

Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to develop country-level strategies in line with organizational goals

Experience in managing USAID contracts/agreements and understanding USG financial and administration policies including grants management.

Effective management of multicultural teams, including performance management systems and mentorship support

Interpersonal and relationship management skills for internal and external stakeholders

Proficiency in budget and financial management

Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with NGOs, government agencies, and other stakeholders

Competence in meeting corporate governance and accountability requirements of governments, organizations, and donors

Capacity to manage security considerations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations, media communication, and report writing

Proficiency in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel) and aptitude for learning new digital tools and platforms

Fluency in spoken and written English

Experience managing large-scale development programs and complex grants funded by USAID, UN, EU, GIZ, World Bank, FCDO and African Development Bank.

Experience in running country office operations, including administration, procurement, finance, human resource management, and security management

In-depth understanding of programming in a partnership model and working with partnership-based NGOs

Experience in managing teams in a multicultural environment and playing a leadership role in ensuring cohesiveness, inclusion, and staff development at all levels.
