Dr. Huijune Shin is a senior economist with over 35 years of experience in conducting economic feasibility studies in various projects for land and water development for agriculture. He has been an economist for 30 years in Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC) which, before known as ADC and then RDC, has been a leading agency in Korea for land and water development for agriculture and rural development projects. KRC was also the first agency in Korea where economic and financial analysis was introduced by recommendation of international institutions such as World Bank and ADB for foreign loaned projects. Dr Huijune Shin participated in plenty of foreign loaned projects as an economist. Later KRC participated in international projects of WB and ADB through successful bidding and Dr Huijune Shin participated in those projects as an economist. He worked as the project officer of the Agriculture and Irrigation Program for Mekong River Commission (MRC) Secretariat supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) program. There he had led identification, formulation, fund seeking, implementation and evaluation of agriculture and irrigation related programs covering member states including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. He retired KRC in 2014 and worked since rather as an independent consultant for economic analysis and project management. He holds doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University, master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from Seoul National Univers
