Senior Urban Management Office

Oversee and supervise the daily operation of the Urban Management Unit (UMU). Work collaborately with national authorities and donor partners to implement activities as well as securing of funding for the Urban Management related projects Provide reports (quarterly, bi-annual, annual) on activities executed by the UMU Review and strengthen capacity building needs of urban councils and outer islands councils Implement and monitor and review of development projects for institutional strengthening of urban councils Provide technical support to outer island and urban councils in developing of their Island Strategic Plans and other regulatory tools (byelaws etc) Streamlining of island council governance needs and priorities in development projects, national policies etc Implement, monitor and review the National Urban Policy in collaboration with Urban councils Oversee and coordinate the Kiribati Local Governance and Urban Development Project
