Dr Nawa Mwale has worked as a social science professional for 18 years in an academic and research institution (University of Zambia) and regional organisation (Global Water Partnership Southern Africa). She holds a PhD in International Development Studies and a Master’s Degree in Development and International Cooperation. Over the years, Dr Mwale has conducted consultancy work for various organisations including government ministries and agencies, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector, international organisations and local Non-Governmental Organisations among others. As a result of working as an Academician and Gender Advisor, Dr Mwale has acquired extensive knowledge and experience working on social aspects relating to Development across the country and the Southern African Development Community region especially conducting gender assessments/analyses while using various gender responsive tools, mainstreaming gender in policy documents and projects and developing gender related training materials. She has also actively been involved in research, developing various knowledge materials, designing and implementing large scale projects while working with various organisations and diverse groups of people. Furthermore, she has disseminated research information through publications, conducted various gender related training programmes and currently serving on some Boards. In conducting various assignments at different levels, Dr Mwale has been involved in developing gender related policies, strategies, frameworks and plans among others at national, regional and global levels.
