About
I have worked nearly two decades in various sectors such as; the private health sector, corporate, government, academic, and INGO sectors. I have had the opportunity to engage in diverse sectors covering UN SDGs (sustainable development goals). And I have experience in evaluating, the needs, conditions and problems of developing countries in the South Asia and Asia Pacific Region.
I have engaged and gained experience in supervising and managing both technical and non-technical teams in aspects of the project cycle management, mainly focusing on (project formulation, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation). I have experience in representational functions outside Sri Lanka as I am an Associate of the OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) based in the Hague, Netherlands and have experience in the UN system.
I have experience working with intergovernmental bodies; UN Organizations, INGOs, embassies and financial organizations (ADB, IFC), leading with results on strategic partnerships, resource mobilization and assisting towards achieving UN SDGs.
My INGO experiences have included; donor relationship management, HR management, resource mobilization, maternal and child health, eye care - vision science, nutrition and prevention of lifestyle disease, provision of water and sanitation facilities, Occupational health and safety, tsunami reconstruction and rehabilitation projects, livelihood development and women empowerment, disability education for persons with hearing and visual impairment, adult education, fisheries, and aquatic resource development, building fishery harbors and anchorages, legal and external affairs in the insurance sector, technical cooperation and regional projects in nuclear science - safety and security, prohibition of chemical weapons - chemical safety and security, small-holder farmers and sustainable value-chain development for specific commodities (e.g. dairy, leather, tea, etc.).
