About
Anthony Abraham is a Medical Laboratory Scientist with over 13 Years of experience in the practice of Medical Laboratory Science in Government Hospitals as a General practitioner and with a Non-Governmental Organization in the Diagnosis, Treatment and Management of HIV/AIDS. He is a Medical Laboratory Assessor Certified and Licensed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM). He is a Fellow of the PEPFAR Professional Health Fellowship Program Organized by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), He is a Trainer with the London Professional Training Centre (LPTC). He is also a Professional Nurse with over 12 Years of Practice as a Nurse before taking on to Medical Laboratory Science fully. He has demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and management of HIV/AIDS, Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP), Laboratory Mentoring in Quality Management System, Laboratory auditing. Anthony Abraham has excellent transferable skills in Quality Management Essentials being a Mentor of Medical Laboratory and an auditor, Enhanced laboratory skills, leading Change, facilitating and fostering teamwork, Leadership Management, Biosafety in Medical Laboratory, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), Biorisk and Biosecurity management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Advocacy, TB microscopy, TB Culture, Drug Susceptibility Testing (DST), PCR (Line Probe Assay), improved HIV/AIDS Prevention and patient care and support and skills in General Nursing and First Aid. He is currently the Senior Technical Officer – Health System Strengthening/Laboratory (HSS/Lab) for FHI360 Adamawa State, Nigeria where he is responsible for Providing technical expertise and assistance in implementing high quality laboratory services within the care and treatment project at the state level, including laboratory capacity development at project health facility sites. Before joining FHI360, he was Head of Virology Department in the Specialist Hospital Yola as well as the ART Lab Focal Person for Adamawa State where he was responsible for the diagnosis of HIV/AIDS as well as monitoring the treatment and/or disease progression with their hematology and Chemistry investigations. He was also responsible for liaising between the State and Independent Partners (IPs) in providing technical assistance in capacity building for laboratory services at health facilities and other settings as appropriate at the state level.
