Mr. Espiritu was the Principal Investigator for a United States Agency for International Development – Science, Technology, Research and Innovation Program (USAID-STRIDE) funded UBE-Tech Project . The main aim of the project is to spur inclusive economic growth through science and technology research. It also aims to strengthen government capability through training in planning, financial management and networking – catalyzing collaborative research for innovation-led growth. He was also the Main proponent in the project “Upscaling Business and Engineering Technology for the Purple Yam Industry in Northern Philippines” under Grant No. 0213777-G-2015-021-00 from 2015 to 2017. He was Project Leader and Main Proponent under the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF)-funded “Policy Study on Enhancing a National Integrated Farm to Market Roads Implementation and Development in the Philippines” which ran from 2017 to 2019. He completed two other agency-funded researches and published the same as two scientific papers. He was a Member of the Technical Working Group of the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Standards.
