About
I am a husband, father, engineer, humanitarian, civic activist and Afghan-American. Born and raised in Kabul, Afghanistan, my family and I moved to the United States more than 50 years ago.
I received my primary and high school, undergraduate and graduate engineering education in the USA. As an undergraduate engineering student, I became profoundly awakened by sobering reality of the basic human need for the most valuable commodity on earth, water, especially in developing and arid regions such as my native Afghanistan. It inspired me to become a water resources engineer and obtain my graduate degree in this vital field of expertise.
I have been a practicing professional engineer for over 34 years but have rarely had the opportunity to apply my expertise in water resources in the places in the world that need it the most. So for the past few years, I have been an expert on development.org seeking to realize the my goal of using knowledge and proficiency in water resources in the developing world.
