Trade & Private Sector Development (PSD) expertise: 24 years experience of working in 20 emerging economies with in depth knowledge of PSD, regional integration, trade, local/regional development - RDA set up and RDA Strategies, SME development, finance, privatisation, corporate restructuring, biz environment & advocacy, corporate governance, competitiveness, cluster formation, FDI & export promotion, trade facilitation (Industrial Standards, HACCP, Phyto Sanitary, CE), job creation in post conflict and for marginalised communities.

Policy Co-ordination/Formulation: Experience with policy formulation process of Regional Development, Cross Border Co-operation, PRSP, structural reform of enterprise sector, trade policy and WTO accession, FDI and EU Charter for SME Development. Design & participation of government/donor co-ordination forums for regional development, privatisation, energy reform, SME and corporate restructuring. Aid coordinator for Slovenia and support accession process for Slovakia using pre-accession instruments (SAPARD).

Monitoring & Evaluation: in depth experience with monitoring & evaluation using Results Oriented Monitoring (ROM) and evaluation of EC funded projects. Design of monitoring and evaluation system for grant funded scheme.

Training and Facilitation: widespread experience in facilitating participatory workshops on LED strategies, value chains, gap analysis, logical framework and project cycle management for range of government and private sector stakeholders in order to generate demand driven projects and programmes.

Programme & Project Management: extensive experience of managing multicultural teams across all aspects of project cycle management: planning, logical framework, drafting ToRs, public procurement (PRAG), including evaluation of Grant Calls for Proposals. Managing grant funds, credit lines, TA projects. Overseeing large teams, work plans, report writing, steering committees, site visits.

Project Design and Programming: 14 years with EC in formulation of Country Strategies, participatory programming, sector concept papers, needs assessment and identification, drafting financing proposals, action fiches, and TORs, donor co-ordination with local authorities, preparation of demand driven projects for grant beneficiaries from both public and private sector.

Communication and PR: extensive PR experience including: public speaking, organising and moderating conferences, drafting of visibility products, brochures, briefings and press releases, holding press conferences with TV and newspaper journalists, design and set up of websites.
