About
I have a Master degree in Political Science and Sociology, majored in Sociology and Latin American Studies. I also have Diplomas in Development Cooperation, Gender, Development, International Humanitarian Law, Indicators, Monitoring, Evaluation and Strategic Planification.
My professional experience in the field of cooperation for the development of more than 30 years has been focused on the AECID (Spanish Agency), UN multilateral agencies and European Comission, and important experiences in all phases of the project.
In positions of great responsibility that I held for AECID –in Nicaragua, Haiti, Egypt and Mali-; the ILO in Haiti – and the missions of the UN in Guatemala and Haiti – I have acquired important skills and experience in all matters relating to the management of team work, project financial management and office management, developing excellent skills in dynamic multicultural working groups, in internal and external communication and organization. In those posts I had also successfully strengthened and developed my skills in relations with institutions, as part of my responsibilities I concentrated on the highest levels of these institutions, both governmental and nongovernmental and international organizations.
In all the jobs I have made major writing tasks at different levels, official documents, sector reports, projects and programs management, suggestions for topics to discuss in meeting, etc. Therefore I have excellent skills to clearly express concepts and ideas, structuring the information properly and synthetically.
My professional career has led me to always work in countries with very different cultural, political and religious views, and where the political and social situations are sensitive and delicate. All these situations trained me professionally and with my personal experience and character have allowed me to develop good skills of dialogue, reconciliation, socio – cultural respect and conflict resolution.
Spanish is my native language. My level of English and French entitle me to work in those languages with a medium-high and high level respectively. Also I can easily communicate in Haitian Creole.
