About
More than 25 years of working experience as Architect, Consultant, Researcher and Trainer in the area of Sustainable Architecture & Urban Planning, Urban Resilience & climate change adaptations in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
As Project, Team & Program Leader responsible for Design and implementation (incl. supervision) for a wide range of sustainable building projects: residential & office buildings, schools, commercial buildings, etc. of different size and complexity. Focus on energy efficiency, intelligent reduction of CO2 emissions, holistic, integrated approaches, including building simulations (energy+) and solar energy simulations/layouts (polysun).
Doctor of Engineering from Bauhaus University/Germany (summa cum laude) and Master of Engineering/Institute of Technology in the Tropics/Germany. Architect (Master-equivalent) of the University of Applied Sciences Munich/Germany. LEED AP and member of the expert pool German Sustainable Building Council.
Capacity building as University professor (DIT/Germany - since 2019; Manaus/Brazil from 2007 until 2012) and trainer in courses, e.g. in Brazil, Peru, Mauritius, Egypt and more than 100 lectures on 5 continents. More than 70 publications, mostly peer-reviewed (over 360 citations/Google scholar). Development of platform solutions for capacity building. Coordination and partly authoring of more than 50 feasibility studies.
Architectural Planning (or supervision of) of Projects in Egypt, Tunisia, Brazil, Mauritius, Mozambique, Peru, China and Germany in many different climate zones, like arid (Egypt, Peru), semi-arid (Brazil, Tunisia), hot & humid (Brazil, Peru, Mauritius, Mozambique), cold and very cold (Peru, Tibet/China, Germany).
Procurement of Construction Works & Construction Site Management and Supervision in Mozambique, Brazil, Peru and Germany
Several national and international prizes for sustainable architecture projects since 1992, e.g. Holcim Silver Award Sustainable Construction Latin America and Holcim Finalist Global Award.
