About
My professional career in development cooperation has the perfect combination of research, policy analysis and management experience with field work in the area of governance, budget support, civil society and domestic accountability.
I just finished my contract with the European Union Delegation in Vanuatu where I have mainly been in charge of formulation and implementation of general budget support operations. My tasks included budget transparency, PFM and development policy assessments for eligibility criteria using political economy analysis and in line with the new budget support guidelines; lead policy dialogue with government as well as drafting Action Fiche and TAPs. Other duties involved managing and monitoring projects and programmes aimed at supporting civil society organisations and community based organisations to enhance MDG3 (promote gender equality) and MDG 7 (access to drinkable water and sanitation facilities).
Previous to join the EU Delegation in Vanuatu, I worked as Governance Junior Programme Officer at the European Centre for Policy Development and Management, which aims at promoting better EU-ACP relations and cooperation. There, I was in charge of research work to draft EC Guidelines on how to engage civil society organizations in budget support to achieve better outcomes and good governance, based on case studies and lessons learnt. Other research work consisted on testing the EC guidelines on sector governance in Kenyan water sector (applying political economy analysis) and contributing to the development of a training kit on decentralisation and local governance. Other aspects of my former job also involved developing training materials, organizing and delivering of trainings and being responsible for management of research projects, including contracts with development partners.
A part of building strong expertise in the field of governance and development, I have been active in coordinative activities and this in different international organizations, facilitating the communication among different networks, monitoring, reporting and editing documents for professionals working in development, managing staff and facilitating consultations, workshops and seminars.
Finally, throughout my professional experience and academic career I have developed solid analytical and networking skills, learnt to work independently as well as in teams in multicultural contexts. I consider myself an open-minded, motivated and dynamic person with strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as high capacity to adapt to any context.
