Interpersonal skills

Building rapport is a core requirement for a healthy workplace and is something I found I’ve excelled at. An example of this was having never worked in the construction industry before, I was presented with the challenge of working in an earthworks team with Leighton Construction. My abilities to listen to and empathize with colleagues, so as to harness our combined skills and experiences of the team, led me to becoming the youngest Leading Hand on site and I did so, in under a year.

Personal strength

Communication is the cornerstone to all relationships, whether they be business or personal. Having lived in four continents, worked in eight cities and travelled to over 30 countries I take pride in my ability to communicate to people of any background or ethnicity. The key for me, is to “first seek to understand, then to be understood” as Stephen Covey writes. When verbally communicating I’ve found the best way is to do so is succinctly, plainly and positively.

Business skills

Seeking a well-rounded business mind, I have actively sought exposure in the varying disciplines of business including finance, administration, operations, human resources and leadership. I have gained this experience through working for a small business, not for profit organization and a large corporate multinational. In addition, I have started my own business investing my personal funds in a variety of investments and opportunities.
