Since 2001 I have managed a wide range of social and economic research and evaluation projects; facilitated strategic development and policy input processes; and evaluated a range of development programmes and government policies. I have worked with major donors, national and local government and non-profit organisations in Africa, Asia and the United Kingdom. I am passionate about my job and thoroughly appreciate the opportunities I have to bridge the gap between people ‘on-the-ground’ and decision makers.

I have substantive knowledge and experience in: Economic Growth and Development; Food Security; Public Health; HIV; Risk Behaviour; Arts, Culture and Heritage; Measuring Quality of Life; Public Service Delivery Improvement; ICT4D; Crime and Safety; Democracy, Governance and Political Economy. Through my work I have developed a broad network of professional contacts in Africa working in these fields and capacities to implement a range of evaluation research methodologies. I am a registered member of the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association and the South African Market Research Association.

My academic interests centre on research and evidence use and the processes by which knowledge is/is not translated into programming and policy insights. I provide training and have taught tertiary level courses in research design, methodology, data management and analysis.

I enjoy travelling and exploring the world, gathering stories about the process of life from different peoples perspectives and sharing my experiences.
