I am a Kenyan national. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences (Philosophy) from Ubarniana University in Italy and a Masters Degree International Studies from the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, University of Nairobi. During my masters degree programme, the main academic and research areas covered include International Relations, Diplomacy, International Law, International Conflict Management, International Business, International Economics, International Organization, International Economic Policy Analysis, International Environmental Law & Policy, International Relations of African States, Social Science Research Methods and Elementary French. My dissertation was in the area of the international law on human rights, with the title of Effectiveness of the international human rights instruments in armed conflicts: A case study of Southern Sudan (1983-2005). As for my bachelors degree, I had a major in philosophy and a minor in sociology. The main topics of study and research are: Ancient Philosophy, Logic, Social & Political Philosophy, Christian Philosophy, Metaphysics, Medieval Philosophy, Modern Philosophy, Cosmology, Theodicy, Epistemology, Philosophical Anthropology, Contemporary Philosophy, African Philosophy, Ethics, rural and urban sociology, rural development and cultural anthropology. I have also undertaken several professional trainings including Conflict Management and Negotiation, social work, budgeting, proposal writing, report writing, monitoring & evaluation and fundraising. I have had very successful working experiences with different international organizations in Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and in Southern Sudan. I have a long experience in conflict and post conflict environments, with its challenging security logistics. I have been involved in humanitarian work for a very long time, including drawing and establishing of humanitarian policies of particular agencies. I have had a long experience in project management. With this experience, I am capable of coordinating and implementing of project activities, preparing schedules for surveys for the implementation of programs and developing of the M&E tools. I have a solid experience in Monitoring and evaluation of projects. With this, I am able to prepare project documents such as strategy papers, annual operations plan, concept proposals, full proposals, progress reports, donor reports, etc. I can follow-up and monitor the progress of program activities, program accomplishments, and budget spending. I can evaluate programs and budget accomplishments against work plans and also follow-up and check the financial status of projects, making recommendations on possible solutions. With my experience in different organizations and cultures, I have had a refined approach to human resource management. I can manage staff through the whole process of recruiting, training, monitoring, supervising, reviewing and appraising activities. As a project Director, project manager and coordinator, financial management has been part and parcel of my duties. I am able to prepare budget proposal for funders, implement such as advances, purchases, validation & invoice and prepare financial reports, budget follow- up and analysis from accounting details. With my vast experience in management, I am able to report on project progress. I am able to collect and compile progress reports for the projects/programs in a timely manner as stipulated by the grant agreements, local authorities, beneficiaries and other stake holders. I can maintain a reliable and up-to-date database of information on project activities and also prepare and maintain brief information statements about projects/programs. Currently I am working in Juba/Nairobi as a Safety and Security Manager at the Joint Donor Team, as an employee of KK Security Company. With this kind of job, I am responsible for undertaking situation and security risk assessments, develop and regularly review contingency plans for hibernation, relocation and evacuation for the staff in the field. I have gained an experience in using participatory methodology, deliver regular security awareness and security training the staff. Since I have worked in different countries and communities, I am able to adopt in different environments. I speak many languages spoken in Kenya, Uganda, Sudan and in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I am fluent in English, French, Kiswahili, Ateso, Turkana, Karimojong, Luganda, Luhya, Lingala and a little Arabic.
