 I am a professional with specialization in HR with approximately 29 years of work experience. Of these, 25 years have been in the Non Profit sector working with International non profit organizations like DFID, Oxfam and Digital Green. Over these years, I have built extensive experience of managing the entire range Human Resources and corporate responsibilities both within country, and overseas at regional level. I work well with people from diverse backgrounds and am able to engage with cross functional teams for effective goal delivery. I have a post-qualification in Training Practice from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), UK.

In Digital Green, as Advisor HROD I partner with Program leads to guide workforce planning, designing team structures, managing talent for succession planning. Lead on org development, recruitments, policy design, compensation plans, employee engagement surveys, etc.

  In Oxfam, I have led on developing Human Resource strategies for to Oxfam India, the largest affiliate office of the Confederation with 158 staff spread over 5 states in India. I have been responsible for driving and effectively implementing HR strategies, Policies and Processes, specifically projects such as, Learning & Development strategy and Induction Programme. I have partnered with senior management, to ensure changes/steer in strategy, goals and objectives are well supported through a robust HR department. My global role for Oxfam International was championing the designing of an Organization wide Performance Management System along with operating tools, which was delivered globally for the entire confederation involving 18 countries. I also worked closely with a small diverse team on Talent Retention Strategy. I have worked for DFID in different capacities for 13 years. As a HR professional, I contributed to developing procedures for Recruitment, Mentoring, Training and handling Grievances for 160 staff in DFID India. My role included managing Pay and Benefits process including negotiations and discussions with Staff Unions and Consultants. I represented DFID India in the global taskforce for revamping and implementing the Performance Management System

I have extensive experience of managing the entire range of corporate responsibilities such as Travel, IT and Administration. My corporate responsibility in Oxfam including managing the Travel Services, managing IT function for effective service delivery, leading on holding Senior Management team meetings, India Leadership team Meetings, Staff meetings and Retreats and Building & Assets Maintenance. While in DFID, I have experience of coordinating a large and complex Change Management Programme. For instance, I administered an extremely complex multi-faceted Collocation project for DFID India with a budget of GBP 1.3 million, which consisted of developing Office Procedures, supervising the civil works for the new building, contracting vendors for service delivery and keeping communication channels live and functional

  My international experience has been working on projects with DFID Caribbean and DFID South East Asia. In DFID Caribbean Region, I led a change management processes involving 50 staff across 3 countries, Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados. The work included, identification of posts based on projects delivered country wise, writing job descriptions, recruitment, Induction and developing staff handbook. For DFID South East Asia, I led a project on Staff Development for the region involving 100 staff across 5 countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Sri Lanka) which included writing staff development policies, guidelines and plans for national and expatriate staff. During my tenure with DFID India I contributed to developing employment and staffing strategy for 160 staff ensuring it appropriately meets the needs of the organization’s deliverables – in terms of numbers, knowledge, skills, academic & professional qualifications, experience and quality of staff. A key achievement was championing the DFID Diversity strategy that ensured equity in a multi-cultural, multi ethnic work environment. This won DFID global recognition since the work was mapped to Unit P8 of the National Occupational Standards for Personnel and was in line with the requirements of best practice.
