I am an academic with sound background in the area of Food Science & Technology and community/international development services. I am technically competent and skilled in the field of biopolymer extrusion. I use initiative to develop effective solutions to research problems. I have acquired research skill, competence and qualification through my research connections with Swedish/European research environment which has enabled my quality of scientific research relevant to Africa. My research activities have centered on African grains which include sorghum, pearl millet, cowpea, Bambara groundnut and soybean with the view of unlocking their potential for sustainable productivity, food security and economic growth in Africa. . During my career I secured the prestigious grant of International Foundation for Science (IFS) Sweden and explore the opportunity to acquire research skill, competence, knowledge and experience which has enabled me consistently maintain good track of collaboration with the Swedish/European. My research profile has attracted interest of my European partners by granting me a 2.5 years mobility grant as a VINNMER Fellow in Sweden. I have developed a sound ability and approach to writing good research proposals. This initiative is intended to develop cooperation between Nigeria and Sweden for business and trade by utilizing our Biosystems like production of high vegetable protein based foods that are gluten free for European markets. I am a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science & Technology (2013-Date). I have served as the Head of Department Food Science and Technology Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, (2007 -2009; 2012 - 2016). Consultant to SCL – A small extrusion plant that is planning to produce high protein/energy food targeted for school feeding programme in Nigeria. I have published over 40 academic papers and attended conferences within and outside Africa. I have taught for over twenty years at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.
