Announcement of the results of the competition "Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 - events and initiatives of the Polish diaspora"

Below we present the results of the grant competition "Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 - events and initiatives of the Polish diaspora".

The competition committee considered those grant applications that exceeded the minimum threshold of 60 points at the expert assessment stage and concerned events planned in the second half of this year.

Not all projects considered received funding due to failure to meet the formal and substantive criteria, including the access criterion. The most common reasons for not obtaining a positive assessment due to formal deficiencies, precisely specified in the Competition regulations, included: qualifying the project for the wrong area, lack of a Polish diaspora partner in the implementation of the project, including the lack of a Polish diaspora partner reported in the Central Statistical Office database, lack of own contribution in the required amount or exceeding the administrative costs limit.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that in the coming days the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will announce the "Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 - Regranting" Competition, in which non-governmental organizations will be able to submit their offers. The deadline for announcing the results of the competition "Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 - events and initiatives of the Polish diaspora" has been postponed - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs kindly informs that the results will be published by 23 July 2024 .

Results of the competition "Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 - Media and Structures"

Below we present the results of the grant competition "Polonia and Poles Abroad 2024 - Media and Structures". We would like to thank all entities that took part in this year's edition. Being aware of the late date of the announcement of the competition results, we are pleased that the decision was made just a few days after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took over the competences and budget of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in the field of care for Polonia and Poles abroad.

The projects assessed by the competition committee were largely of a high substantive level, and a large number of the proposed activities were a response to the real needs of Polish communities in various parts of the world. The competition committee considered those initiatives that exceeded the threshold of 60 points at the expert evaluation stage.

Not all projects under consideration received funding due to failure to meet formal and substantive criteria. The most common reasons for failure to obtain a positive assessment due to formal deficiencies included: (i) lack of a Polish partner in the implementation of the project, including the lack of a Polish partner reported in the Central Statistical Office database, (ii) lack of own contribution in the required scope in the entire project or in the case of multi-annual projects in one of the years of its implementation and (iii) submission of an offer, the scope of which was already included in the framework of other grant competitions (so-called double financing).

We appeal to participants of the next competitions to carefully read the regulations, be precise in preparing offers, including taking into account all required conditions in the submitted applications. In particular, we ask you to avoid so-called double financing of projects by applying for budget funds in parallel in several places and to clearly present the goals and scope of the proposed activities. The project costs presented in the offer must clearly result from the plan and schedule of activities and correspond to market rates. Rejecting projects that are interesting in terms of content but do not meet the formal criteria is always the most painful.

In this context , we inform you that in the coming days, the "Regranting Competition for Polonia Projects 2024" will be announced, in which non-governmental organizations will be able to try their chances of receiving a grant once again. Details and the schedule of the Competition will be presented soon.
