U.S. Embassy Bishkek PDS Annual Program Statement

Objectives: The key objective of this grant is to strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties between the United States and the Kyrgyz Republic through various collaborative programs. These initiatives are designed to promote shared values, highlight mutual societal interests, and bolster bilateral cooperation. Eligible projects should incorporate an American element -- either through involvement with American experts, organizations, or through the utilization of American educational resources. Goals include fostering mutual understanding and sustainable cooperation between the two nations, and are particularly encouraged to focus on areas like cultural exchanges, economic development, accountable governance, English language education, climate resilience, and transnational threat mitigation. The program specifically encourages initiatives that reach rural or remote areas of the Kyrgyz Republic and acknowledges efforts that likely continue collaboration beyond the project lifespan. Additionally, programs that build partnerships with Kyrgyz governmental bodies or have a proven history of successful partnership implementations are favorably considered.
