America’s Healthy Food Financing Initiative: Food Access and Retail Expansion (FARE) Fund

Objectives: The America’s Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) Food Access and Retail Expansion Fund (FARE Fund) provides $60 million over five years in loans, grants, and technical assistance to innovative food retail and system enterprises aiming to enhance access to healthy food in underserved U.S. areas through food retail. The fund supports projects in predevelopment, planning, and implementation stages focusing on increasing food access, improving the food retail supply chain, and fostering local economic development.
