Energy Research 2025 Harnessing Potential & Shaping the Future

Objectives: The "Energy Research 2025: Harnessing Potential & Shaping the Future" initiative aims to develop and integrate innovative, climate-friendly energy technologies in Austria, contributing significantly to climate neutrality. Supported by Austria's Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure and the Climate and Energy Fund, the initiative seeks to bolster Austria’s innovation capacity, technological expertise, and leadership in next-generation energy technologies. The research will focus on energy generation and storage technologies, hydrogen and renewable gases, system design and operation, digital transformation, energy conversion efficiency, societal transformation, and system analysis. With a minimum budget of €16.9 million, the initiative looks to increase this funding through additional resources. The ultimate goal is to position Austria as a leader in energy technology innovation, supporting European Green Deal objectives and enhancing global value chain participation.
