The CookFund Programme

Objectives: The CookFund Programme, supported by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in collaboration with UNIDO and FAO, aims to overcome barriers to the adoption of clean cooking solutions in Tanzania, such as affordability and accessibility. This five-year initiative (2021–2026) seeks to increase sustainable cooking solution access, reducing climate impact and aligning with Tanzania's climate commitments. Through financial and technical aid, it supports enterprises in clean cooking technology production, importation, distribution, and sales, offering grants between €10,000 to €300,000 through a Performance Based Payment Agreement, structured over 12 months, to spur adoption across five key regions: Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Morogoro, Dodoma, and Mwanza.
