Collaborative Knowledge Generation on Early Childhood Care and Education Interventions in Rwanda and Sierra Leone

Objectives: The Education Outcomes Fund (EOF) seeks to form knowledge partnerships to generate evidence, learning, and actionable insights on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) interventions in programs managed in Rwanda and Sierra Leone. The main objectives focus on co-creating final learning agendas for these ECCE programs, in collaboration with independent evaluators, and conducting research to produce learnings that emphasize improving the ECCE interventions. The ultimate aim is to offer governments evidenced recommendations for scaling quality and cost-effective ECCE services, whilst bolstering the global evidence base on ECCE practices. This initiative underlines the importance of existing in-country research capacity by urging knowledge partners not based in Rwanda or Sierra Leone to collaborate with local researchers or organizations. The execution of these objectives involves the enhancement of implementing partners’ intervention models through research insights, government decision-making facilitation through evidence-backed recommendations, and commitment to global and regional ECCE knowledge sharing and utilization.
