Objectives: The grant, "Strengthening Egyptian Drug Authority’s Regulatory Functions," aims to enhance the regulatory environment for medicinal products in Egypt, including vaccines, by upgrading the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) to a World Health Organisation (WHO) - listed Authority (WLA). The specific objective focuses on supporting the EDA to achieve a WHO Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) Maturity Level 4 for medicinal products and to conform with WHO Good Regulatory Practices, advancing to the level of a Stringent Regulatory Authority. This is part of a broader initiative to improve access to vaccines, medicines, and health technologies in Africa.
